Eden have supported the planning strategy and subsequent preparation of a full planning application for the refurbishment and upgrade of existing facilities at the Urgent and Emergency Care Department at Arrowe Park Hospital, Birkenhead, on behalf of Wirral University Teaching Hospital and the Wirral Community Heath and Care Trust.

The new design will use the existing site to deliver a modern unit that will offer significant improvements in terms of operational efficiency with a legible design to better enable patients and families to easily interpret the hospital’s entrance and access. Crucially, the proposed amendments will reduce the potential for conflict between visitors and ambulances needing to access the hospital site quickly.

The proposals were submitted for planning approval in May 2022
